If you want to become a teacher in Jharkhand then you might know that clearing JTET is important. The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) – the official body for conducting the JTET has invited applications for the JTET exams 2024. The application has already started.
The JTET exam is conducted at two levels: Primary and Upper Primary. If you’re aiming to teach Class 1 to 5 then you just need to pass Primary level (Paper 1). But if you want to teach class 6 to 8 then you must pass paper 2. If you want to become eligible to teach classes 1-8 then you must appear and pass both exams.

Jharkhand Teacher Test (JTET) 2024: Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for JTET Paper-I:
If you want to become a primary school teacher then you must appear for the JTET paper -1. To appear:
- You must have completed the 12th grade with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate
- OR you hold a 2-year Diploma or 4-year Graduation degree in Elementary Education.
- The minimum age is 18 years (however there’s no upper age limit).
Eligibility for JTET Paper-II:
If you want to teach classes from 6 to 8 i.e. upper primary, then you must pass this Paper II exam. Its eligibility is:
- You must have a Graduation degree along with a B.Ed degree/2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- OR you must have a Bachelor’s degree in Science/Arts with an Integrated Bachelor’s of Education.
- Minimum age is 21 years (no upper age limit).
How to apply for the Jharkhand JTET Form 2024
Follow this step-by-step guide to apply for the JTET 2024:
Step 1: Visit the official portal for JTET 2024 https://www.jactetportal.com/registration
Step 2: Read the official notification to ascertain your eligibility
Step 3: Click on the checkbox (I’ve read the terms)
Step 4: Click on submit to start your application process
Step 5: Enter your personal details
Step 6: Enter your Address and create a password
After this, you can add all relevant details, and pay the required fees to submit your application for JTET 2024.

This year the application fees for JTET 2024 are as follows:

When is the last date for JTET 2024? This year the cut-off date is 22 Aug 2024, however, you should aim to apply well before the last date as the website can crash and slow down due to last-minute rush.
